Wondering if you can put foil to cook these garlic bread in an air fryer? Learn more in my step by step guideline about using aluminium foil in an air fryer.

    🌟 Why this recipe works

Homemade garlic bread is one of my favorite things to make in the air fryer for 2 reasons. Firstly, It's quick to prepare in JUST 5 minutes, making it ideal for busy weeknights - and secondly, all you need is a baguette and a butter and garlic mixture.

Another bonus with air fryer garlic bread is that it's storage-friendly, making it perfect for reheating from frozen.

Any home cook with an air fryer that loves the taste of garlic will fall in love with the crunchy golden texture and deliciously garlic, buttery flavor.

It's a great recipe to serve alongside pizza for pizza night, Italian pasta dishes, and even heart-warming soups.

You can also customize the garlic bread with cheese, herbs, and spices. There's so much to love about crispy air-fried garlic bread - it's no wonder that it's extremely popular right NOW!

Another great snack you can make is my tortilla chips in the air fryer. Check it out!

    🍽 Key Ingredients

Air fryer garlic bread is irresistibly delicious and takes minutes to prepare with kitchen-friendly ingredients.

    air fryer garlic bread ingredients

Baguette: For this recipe, I use a fresh French baguette for a softer, chewier texture in the center while still crunchy on the outside. For a crispier texture, use a day-old baguette.

Butter & garlic mixture: A garlic butter mixture consists of fresh garlic and softened butter. Fresh minced garlic improves the strength of the garlic flavor, and the butter can be salted or unsalted.

    Substitutions

    Baguettes

You can substitute the french baguette with a sourdough baguette and still have the same texture and flavor. The only difference is sourdough baguettes are made with natural yeast, while French baguettes use rapid yeast.

    Additions

You can add chopped fresh parsley or chives to the garlic butter and grated parmesan cheese for additional flavor.

    🔪 How to make

Air fryer garlic bread is by far the best and easiest way to enjoy buttery garlic bread! Learn how to make it with my 3-step cooking instructions, helpful top tips, and FAQs. All you need to do is spread the garlic butter on the baguette and pop it in the air fryer.

    Preparations

    • Cut the baguettes into ½-inch thick slices and spread the garlic butter onto each slice.

Pro tip: Allowing the garlic bread to cool for 2 minutes will make it crunchier!

    💭 Cooking tips

    Texture

If you want a crispier texture, cut the baguette into ¼ inch slices, and for a thicker chewier texture, cut it to ¾ inch. Cutting the baguette into ½-inch slices provides the perfect combination of crunchy and soft.

Don't overload the air fry basket!

Resist the temptation to fill the air fryer basket to speed up the cooking process. If you want perfectly even golden brown garlic bread slices, they MUST be laid in a single layer with gaps between each slice for the air to circulate freely.

    📖 Recipe Variations

Three delicious variations to choose from with different flavors using this awesome recipe.

    Cheesy garlic bread

What can be better than buttery garlic bread? Garlic bread with cheese! Top the butter and garlic mixture with some freshly grated parmesan cheese to bring some melty gooeyness to your French bread. You can use grated mozzarella too!

    Garlic bread with herbs

Give your air fryer garlic bread a herbaceous flavor with some freshly chopped parsley mixed in with the garlic bread spread. A sprinkle of dried Italian seasoning also works.

    Spicy garlic bread

Add some spice by mixing in some freshly chopped chilis or chili flakes. The amount is down to your spice level. I like to add half a teaspoon with my mixture.

    🥗 What to serve with

Air fryer garlic bread is perfect as a snack and pairs harmoniously with other dishes like pizza, pasta, and soups.

    Soup

Soup and garlic bread is a match made in heaven, and these delicious soups; cream of mushroom and smooth tomato are sure to delight anyone that tastes them.

    Pizza

Having pizza night soon and looking for some tasty keto options to go with this crunchy garlic bread? Try this fantastic keto pizza recipe made with homemade marinara sauce, a pizza base, and loaded with delicious toppings.

    Pasta

If you love pasta, you will love these low-carb options! Deliciously creamy chicken pasta and an easy garlic butter pasta with crispy shrimp cook in an air fryer.

    🥗 Frequently Asked Questions

Can you cook frozen garlic bread in an air fryer?

Yes, you can place the frozen garlic bread in the air fryer set at 340 degrees Fahrenheit and cook it for 5-6 minutes.

What is the best bread for garlic bread?

The best bread to use for garlic bread is a classic baguette, either French or Italian. Although, sourdough baguettes and ciabatta bread are acceptable for a softer texture.

    🧊 Storing and ♨️Reheating

Air fryer garlic bread is ideal for storing and reheating for another day once it has cooled.

Fridge - You can store leftover garlic bread in an airtight container and place it in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Freezer - Once the butter garlic has been spread on each slice, wrap them in aluminum foil individually and store them in the freezer in an airtight container. They will last up to 3 months frozen.

Do not cook and freeze the garlic bread, as it will go soggy upon thawing.

Reheating leftovers – For best results, reheat garlic bread in the microwave for 40 seconds to soften it up. I do not recommend reheating it in the air fryer, as it will become too crunchy.

    👪 Serving Size

This air fryer garlic bread recipe gives you 4 servings, or you can make more by scaling the recipe quantity to cater to people. I love making this recipe and always make enough to last me through the week for storing and reheating purposes.
