All you need to make yummy baked tortilla strips is a couple of corn tortillas! Learn how easy it is to make them at home.
The other day I made a delicious plant based Mexican burger loaded with avocado, refried beans, salsa and sriracha Vegan mayo. It was delicious, but it needed some crunch. I really wanted some tortilla strips to top it with, and I happened to have some little corn tortillas in the fridge so I decided to make my own.
It was much easier than I thought and they tasted amazing!
These baked tortilla strips would be great in soup, a burrito bowl, or just eat them by themselves like my kids did.
I used these little corn tortilla “sliders” that I got from Whole Foods because that’s what I had. You can use regular sized corn tortillas as well, you will just want to cut them in half first before cutting into strips so your strips aren’t too long.
I cut mine into 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch strips, you can cut them narrower if you would like. In a bowl, add about 1 tsp olive oil for 4 regular sized corn tortillas and sprinkle with salt to taste. Combine so strips are coated with oil and salt and bake on a cookie sheet, flipping frequently.
Allow to cool and serve. They are best when fresh.
So good! I may never buy tortilla chips ever again.

Easy Baked Tortilla Chips
- 4 corn tortillas
- 1 tsp olive oil
- salt to taste
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Cut tortillas in half lengthwise, then cut into 1/4 inch strips.
- Combine olive oil and tortilla strips in a bowl until strips are coated with oil.
- Place strips on a parchment lined baking sheets and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, turning strips a couple times during baking. Remove when crisp and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes and enjoy!
