I used to be that person who would spend an entire day (or more) cleaning the house. I would do everything at once, because there is no better way to show you are in control of your life than by procrastinating and trying to scramble and do it all at the last minute.
Besides, a marathon cleaning session is a great workout.
But I can think of much better ways to spend a whole day and much quicker ways to get in an effective workout. Which is why I learned that setting a cleaning schedule and tackling jobs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis can actually save a ton of time and KEEP my house clean so I never have to spend an entire day cleaning the house.
This method involves making a list of all of the necessary chores around the house, assigning them as a daily, weekly or monthly task depending upon how often they need to be done. Most of the daily chores can be done in as little as 20-30 minutes. The weekly chores should take 1-2 hours depending upon the size of your house, and the monthly chores 1-2 hours. This works out to around an hour a day. And the more you do it, the more of a habit it becomes and before long you won’t even notice the effort you put in, but you will notice that your house is always clean.
