I have been making smoothies so much lately that my kids have started requesting their own creations. Is that as crazy to you as it is to me?
Let me put it to you this way: I have been rejecting smoothie ideas for weeks. They would come up with some insane ideas that sounded absolutely horrific. There was absolutely no way I was going to waste my Kura Smoothie Starters on a doomed smoothie recipe.
One day, my kids thought of something absolutely genius. This is what they told me:
Daughter: “Hey mom, let’s make a smoothie! I have a great idea!”
Me: Sigh “Let’s hear it!”
Daughter: “Let’s mix the vanilla and berry powders and add peaches and pineapple, and then you can put cinnamon on top and let ME stir it. The cinnamon is to help remind me of peach cobbler.”
Me: “Well darn, kid, that sounds wonderful!”
And here we are.
Kura vanilla berry fruit smoothie recipe
I couldn’t believe that this idea came from my kids when I first made this smoothie. But it turned out wonderfully!
I recommend going light on the pineapple, even less than 1/4 cup if you aren’t a huge fan of an overwhelming pineapple taste.
Since we discovered this drink we have been making different variations of it as an almost daily after school snack.
Now that it is Spring Break I bet we will be making it even more.
My kids don’t know this, but making them smoothies is one of my secret weapons. They stop bickering and fighting when I make smoothies. The  20 minutes of pure peace is well worth the five minutes it takes to prepare them drinks.
Kura Starters Vanilla Berry Fruit Smoothie Recipe
Print RateIngredients
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 packet Vanilla Kura Smoothie Starters
- 1 packet Berry Kura Smoothie Starters
- 1/2 cup frozen peaches
- 1/4 cup of frozen pineapple
- 1-2 cups milk depending on how thick you like your smoothie. I used around 1 1/2 cups.
- Cinnamon
Instructions
- Place ice, both packets of Kura Smoothie Starters, peaches, pineapple, and milk into your blender.
- Blend until you've reached the desired consistency, adding milk if necessary.
- Pour into two glasses, and top with cinnamon.
I love when my smoothies are filled with fruit. It makes me miss the days we had an endless supply of frozen fruit that came straight from my great grandmother’s garden.
