“Ooooh I need this,” she insisted.
“What do you need?” I asked and turned to look at her.
She held up a backpack and lunchbox.
“I NEED these for school!”
Ah yes. The priorities of a 7 year old and the things that they perceive defines their level of cool. And it’s always changing. I can’t even count how many times have I come home all excited about something I bought with their favorite character on it only to have them tell me that they don’t like one that anymore.
I can’t keep up!
Thankfully it seems like Target is hip to all of the cool things my kids want. Which makes my life a heck of a lot easier for my back-to-school shopping.
There is something magical about shopping for back-to-school and I remember how exciting it was. The anticipation of a new year. A new grade. A new teacher. And new clothes and school supplies. My kids are a lot like me as well, they are so excited to shop for new stuff to usher in a brand new school year.
But it’s funny how stressful it can be as a parent to balance a budget, a school provided supply list and the oh-so-random desires of a child.
But Target to the rescue! Target makes hopping for school supplies, gear and apparel easy. Target has everything they need (the things they actually need), everything they want (the things they think they need) and prices that make me and my budget very happy.
Despite all of the amazing choices, both of my kids knew exactly what they wanted when they saw it, and it was great that it seemed like their favorite characters were available in both apparel and supplies.
They now have the things they think are “cool” and they think I am “cool” for shopping at Target so they could get them.
I love looking like a hero!
Although I do think I am going back to Target to get one of these backpacks for myself.
Is that not the cutest thing ever?
