This giveaway has ended. The winner is: #168 Jenn S.
Until recently I had a wallet problem. I rarely carry a purse, usually I just carry my wallet or throw it in my daughter’s diaper bag. But I could never find a wallet that both fit all of the stuff I carry and prevent it from falling out. Not to mention, the effects of a 2 year old who is obsessed with opening my wallet and watching everything flutter out to the ground.
At any given time, my wallet is filled with:
- Gift cards
- Bank deposit receipts
- Credit cards
- Store membership cards
- Insurance cards
- Id and drivers license
- And some other things that I can’t identify and never use but I just can’t bring myself to throw away
Check it out, I don’t know how I even got it closed…
See all that loose stuff just sitting there? It consists of cash, coupons, receipts and gift cards. I would put it right inside my wallet with nothing but a snap to close it – a snap that routinely would pop open because the wallet was too full. Plus it was really hard to keep track of what I had in there and I stand at the cash register fumbling around trying to find everything. Half the time I’d just give up and when I got home realize that I forgot to use a valuable coupon or gift card that I had.
I do have a separate coupon binder but I don’t always like to carry it. First, it is big and bulky and second, I prefer to pull the coupons out ahead of time for the things I plan to buy. It eliminates impulse shopping, and is just easier all around.
Savvycents is a wallet for the “fashionably frugal” that not only organizes your life but can help you save money as well!
From the website:
The Savvycents wallet is not only functional but also fashionable. It contains everything you need to organize your monthly or weekly budget using a cash system. With an accordion style file system inside the wallet you can separate money and/or coupons by categories. Your wallet comes with file cards where you can label each category with our pre-printed labels. There are also blank labels where you can customize your wallet based on your personal categories. You no longer have to carry envelopes to separate your money and deal with loose change in the envelopes. A coin pocket is located on the backside of the wallet.
It also has 6 pockets for debit cards and store discount cards. On the opposite side there is a place for your driver’s license and a place for your checkbook.
Wallet is 8” x 4”
Savvycents was designed and created by a former teacher turned stay-at-home mom who wanted a better way to organize her wallet to work with her budgeting system.
Savvycents was first formed in January of 2009 after Melinda Claudpierre read a book about becoming debt free and following the cash envelope system of budgeting.
Frustrated with paper envelopes and disorganization with her wallet, she wanted to create a wallet that would allow her to keep her cash in separate categories and also give quick access to her drivers license, coin holder, and all of her discount cards and coupons. The Savvycents wallet allows you to have all these thing in an attractive wallet that every woman would love to carry.
Melinda Claudepierre – President and creator of Savvycents is a stay-at-home mom of three kids and has been married to Jon for thirteen years. She is a former teacher.
I feel slightly weird to way this, but I haven’t been this excited by something in a long time, as I was when I received my Savvycents wallet. When I saw it I KNEW it would completely make-over my wallet and my coupon clipping.
The wallet itself is really a very nice quality, inside and out. The exterior is shiny black patent leather and is totally classy, yet fits in just fine with my more casual lifestyle. The interior fit EVERYTHING from my old wallet and has room to spare. I could probably fit most of my coupons from my coupon binder in it too. And my checkbook! I’ve never been able to fit my checkbook in my wallet before.
Below is an illustration that points out the main areas of the interior:
This wallet can be used in a number of different ways depending upon your lifestyle. Do you use the envelope system for carrying cash? Do you prefer to have your coupons with you at all times? Are you like me, and like to carry a bunch of different things that help you save and budget money and need a better way to organize them? The Savvycents can fit your lifestyle because of the organizer section with tabbed dividers. It comes with both pre-printed labels and blank labels for you to make your own and setup and organize the wallet to your exact needs.
My organizer section has the following tabs: Gifts, where I keep my store and restaurant gift cards (because I always seem to have quite a few); Grocery, for my grocery coupons; Other Coupons for retails and restaurant coupons; Miscellaneous, where I keep some photos of my kids, my bank receipts and a few other random things; and Membership Cards, where I keep my store cards for discounts and such.
Oh and the pen fits.
Yes, I can actually close the wallet with the pen in it.
The pen slot is not just decoration in the Savvycents!
In trying to come up with something that I would “improve” upon with the Savvycents, the only thing that would make it even more perfect for me, would be a place for my cell phone. I have a pretty thin, small phone and I am constantly trying to figure out how to carry it. The ability to it into my Savvycents would be wonderful! Although because not all phones are created equal, it’s probably not practical for the masses.
Savvycents comes in black, red and pink (coming soon) patent leather. I may need to get myself a pink one too!
