Have you ever been to a nice restaurant and had a salad that tasted so good that you actually said that you would eat salad for every meal if you could have THAT salad? A salad that had such depth of flavor you would forgo even steak to have it? Ok, maybe there isn’t a salad that trumps steak, but some come pretty darn close.
It’s amazing how good a chef quality salad tastes.
And really sad how hard it is to recreate a salad at home that tastes that good.
Salad isn’t the only way to get the nutrition your body needs, but it’s one of the best. Fresh veggies don’t have valuable vitamins and minerals cooked out and the right salad can pack a nutritional powerhouse in just one serving.
Well, you can have a chef quality salad at home with Eat Smart Salad Kits.
Now, I know what you are thinking. No bagged salad could even remotely taste like a salad you get in a restaurant.
And you’d be wrong.
I also bet you probably think I’m just saying that because this content is sponsored by Eat Smart that I’m just saying that because they asked me to.
You’d be wrong there too.
When I first received these salads to try, I was skeptical. I just couldn’t imagine that a salad in a bag could even come close to those I’ve had in a restaurant. But I approached it with an open mind and mixed up the Eat Smart Wild Greens & Quinoa Salad Kit.
Eat Smart Wild Greens & Quinoa Salad Kit
Eat Smart’s gourmet vegetable quinoa salad kit contains seven superfoods: kale, beet greens, julienned broccoli, carrots, red cabbage, crispy quinoa and almonds, plus feta cheese and an avocado herb dressing. It sounded unique but really didn’t seem like anything that special to me. I imagined it would taste like, well…salad. Your normal, everyday, average, common salad.
I liked that it contained the dressing and the extras like the quinoa, cheese and almonds, each one in a separate pouch.
The bag contained 3 generous sized servings. It was colorful and fresh.
I mixed everything together and added some of the salad to my bowl. It smelled really good, the dressing had a fresh delicious smell, I couldn’t wait to try it.
I’d like to let you in on a little secret. I don’t like kale. It’s thick and rough and just not something I prefer to eat raw, so I was definitely hesitant about trying this salad.
But the kale in this quinoa salad was anything but. It was tender and dare I say, delicious! I couldn’t get enough of this salad, in fact, I had two servings. The only reason I didn’t have 3 was because I shared it with my sister. It was so good I would have eaten the whole bag! Not better than steak, but really darn close. The only real change I would like to see would be a bit more dressing. Even tossed really well it was about a teaspoon or two short of being just enough.
