This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allwell Medicare. All opinions are 100% mine.
I’m not yet close to being 65. Obviously, I’m closer than I was 10 years ago, but at 46, I still have a ways to go before I can take advantage of it.
Right now, I’m still enjoying an active lifestyle.
I mow two huge lawns every week.
I take walking tours in cool places like Paris and Chicago.
I slide down really long slides at the pumpkin patch.
And I hope at 65, I am still able to do those things.
While I’m not old enough for Medicare, my mom is. And she’s always been an active person too, so it’s important to me to help her make sure that she has the healthcare she needs to stay active and healthy. And it’s never too early for me to start planning for the time when I will be reviewing plans and making my own Medicare decisions.
Maybe you have a parent or parents already on Medicare or getting ready to enroll. Maybe you are getting close to that age yourself. No matter which situation you are in, now is the time to evaluate options during Medicare Open Enrollment.
What is Medicare?
Medicare is a federal health insurance program. It is for people age 65 and older, some younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease.
Medicare has 3 parts:
- Medicare Part A which is hospital insurance
- Medicare Part B which is medical insurance
- Medicare Part C which is prescription drug coverage
Plans are offered by insurance companies that are approved by Medicare to offer coverage.
Medicare Open Enrollment
The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for Medicare runs from October 15th through December 7th and it’s the perfect time to make sure that your loved ones have the best plan for them. It’s also the time for new members looking for first time coverage to evaluate their options.
During open enrollment you can sign up for a new plan, leave an old plan or make changes to an existing plan. If you didn’t sign up for a plan when you first became eligible (during initial enrollment) open enrollment is a time when you can choose a plan that is right for you.
Medicare can seem confusing. And complicated. And overwhelming. Especially with so many options available. But Allwell is a new Medicare product that aims to change all that.
What Allwell offers:
- Friendly service
- Local Service
- Simplified Experience
- Helpful Service
Allwell also offers affordable plans, the benefits you and your loved ones need, and access to the care and medication required to help them feel their best.
Why You Should Care About Medicare Open Enrollment
My mom and I used to walk all the time. Miles and miles every night. As I got older and had my own responsibilities, those walks got fewer and fewer. Recently, however, my mom adopted a small dog to keep her company. All of a sudden she is walking again. Multiple times a day. It’s important to her and her new friend that she is healthy enough to continue those walks.
But what if her Medicare plan doesn’t cover the things it needs to should a problem arise? Or what if she doesn’t have the right plan for her? Then I will end up having to walk her dog for her. And as much as I like her dog, walking is good for her, and I have 3 dogs of my own who need to be walked.
Who in your life is on Medicare or will be eligible soon? Is it important to you that their coverage fit their needs?
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to help take care of them they way they took care of you all these years.
