As a martial arts instructor it can sometimes be a challenge to keep kids engaged in their group class with fun activities but also ensure that they are working the basics – blocks, kicks and punches. You want to find a balance so they are practicing what they know, learning something new and enjoying the class.
Drills are a great way to make sure that you work the basics into the class so I put together a sheet of Kenpo karate drills that can be modified as necessary for any style of martial arts. You can click the image or click here for a printable version: martial arts warm-up drills for kids.
