My dogs are as big a part of my family as my kids are. Actually, sometimes my kids act up so badly, I tell them that the dogs are higher than they are in the family rank. I even threatened to serve them dog food and let the dogs eat their dinner.
Although considering I was doing the cooking, that actually didn’t scare them. Sometimes the dog food tastes better than my cooking. Especially because we make it a priority to feed our dogs quality food to ensure that they are as healthy as possible.
In a perfect world, I believe that the best food for dogs is in its natural form – raw and mirroring what they would eat in nature. Raw food isn’t cooked and it contains pure nutrition in whole food ingredients. But when feeding a controlled raw diet (meaning the animal isn’t out in nature feeding on instinct) you have to make sure that you meet the complete nutritional needs of your dog. You can’t just start feeding him beef and carrots and expect that it provides a balanced diet. The effort involved in feeding a real raw diet is just not feasible for me in my busy schedule. It’s probably not for you either.
Benefits of raw food:
- Better digestion
- Healthier skin
- Softer fur
- More energy
- Increase vitality
Thankfully you can offer your dog the benefits of raw food thanks to Instinct® Raw Boost® Mixers.

Raw Boost Mixers are all natural, raw and freeze-dried making it convenient for you to feed to them and make sure they get the right nutrition they need. They are gluten and grain-free as well.
Benefits of Instinct Raw Boost Mixers:
- Pure animal protein for lean muscles and strong bones

I was really excited to shop for Instinct Raw Boost Mixers at Petsmart and give my dogs the opportunity to finally try some raw food.
The Mixers were easy to find among the other Instinct products and they had 4 flavors to choose from for dogs. They also had some trial size packets in case you want to try a smaller amount to make sure your dog likes it before committing to a larger bag. Petsmart had a great deal on the trial bags as you can see – 3 for $5!
My dogs don’t have good enough manners to visit Petsmart with me, but they were sure interested in the Instinct Raw Boost Mixers when I got home.
I opened one of the trial size bags just enough for them to smell what was inside to see if they were interested.
Toby discovered it first but it didn’t take long for Sadie to express an interest.
I took a few pieces of them out for them to try and they really seemed to like them. They licked the floor clean afterwards.
Not to mention their lips. Do dogs have lips?
Instinct Raw Boost Mixers are meant to be added to your dog’s current food, either dry or canned and eaten a part of their regular diet. You do want to cut back slightly on the regular food to account for the increase in calories. I’m going to start adding Mixers to Toby & Sadie’s regular food and I’ll report back on our experiences with it in a couple of weeks.
