I was looking through my digital pictures, and found these from December 2, 2006. Freezing rain fell for about six hours, and then it started to snow. The ice encased everything, making the trees look like they were crystal. We lost power for three days due to this ice storm, and because we have a well – no water. I didn’t mind the loss of power as much as water. We had lots of drinking water, but there’s only so much you can do in the bathroom. Especially five people. Yikes! After two days of living in the dark ages, we headed to a hotel and a nice warm pool. And flushable toilets. We have our priorities!
On the way out, I couldn’t resist playing with my new camera. The ice made such interesting patterns and images.
