February is American Heart Month which means we all should spend some time focusing on what we can do to make our hearts healthier. Heart disease and stroke are all-too-common today and are a leading cause of death in the United States.
One of the most important things you can do for a healthy heart is to be active. Physical fitness can go a long way towards keeping your heart healthy. Combined with a healthy diet and maintaining a reasonable weight, exercise can help promote lower blood pressure which is a key factor in heart disease and stroke.
United Healthcare has been encouraging people to take small steps everyday to a healthy lifestyle, and in honor of American Heart Month, they DARE you get up, get out and get active with a heart healthy exercise. And if you do, and share it with them, you might win one of their (3) $25 weekly prizes or one of their (3) $400 grand prizes! Just for doing something you should be doing anyway to improve your health. You can also take a heart health quiz for extra entries too.
To help you jump-start a heart healthy February, I have made a workout challenge that is sure to get your blood pumping!
