This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hear the World. All opinions are 100% mine.
I want to get right down to business, because this is an extremely important cause. Not only to me, but to many who have been touched by hearing loss.
About 660,000 children are born each year with some form of hearing loss. As a parent this is heartbreaking, as the child it is devastating. It is devastating because there is so much wonder in hearing, from going to a Broadway musical and hearing professionals sing, or just hearing your mother yell your full name across the house because you’re in trouble.
To put it simply: hearing different types of things can give you chills. Whether it is good or bad is all in the context.
Hearing Loss Recognition
Hearing loss is one of the conditions that doesn’t see the recognition it deserves. Hearing loss affects 15% of the world’s population. 15% may seem like an extremely low percentage, but 15% of the world is 1,068,750,000 people. It seems much more significant when looked at this way. What’s more is nearly half of these cases are preventable. With proper knowledge of hearing loss we can help prevent more cases.
It is an important thing for us to consider supporting. The Hear the World foundation has enlisted help of influential ambassadors to help raise awareness about this cause through a calendar. This year faces like Christoph Waltz, Vanessa Paradis, Jean Paul Gaultier and Elizabeth Jagger are going to be striking the Hear the World pose for you. All these photos were taken by well known musician/photographer Bryan Adams.
Hear the World helps projects that support children with hearing loss. These projects help these children develop at the correct rate, and help prevent them from becoming behind in studies and developmental milestones. Since 2006 Hear the World has promoted over 50 projects over five continents.
