After Halloween Trick-or-Treating has ended, my kids dig into their stash and attempt to bribe me with peanut butter cups. I have to admit that I’m a sucker for a peanut butter cup. Yum. In the grand scheme of things, I try not to indulge, but seriously. Peanut butter cups! And to be honest, I have a few other favorites too. As I mentioned in my Halloween Candy Exercise for Kids article, I don’t believe in complete deprivation. So I put together this Halloween Candy Exercise Exchange for Adults to help you balance your indulgences this Halloween.
This free printable makes you earn and trick-or-treat goodies that you decide to indulge in, and is a great way for you to connect with your kids as well. In fact, if they prefer to do this one along with you, it’s even better for them. But this printable contains more traditional bodyweight exercises where the kids one has a lot more fun activities that aren’t “exercises” but really just fit activities for kids.
You can use this as a straight one-for-one exchange or up the challenge and require yourself to do all of the exercises that come before the candy you decide to indulge in. Just no cheating, make sure to pull the candy blind out of a bag so you don’t always pick the one at the beginning of the list.
I tried to cover all of the different types of candy you see around Halloween, but it’s hard to get them all. It changes every year so I tried to cover the tried-and-true Halloween candy staples. If there is something that isn’t on the list, find the most similar candy, and perform that exercise.
Keep in mind, these are based on the mini sized candy standard around Halloween. Full sized candy would probably 3-4 times the size of a mini and so the activity should be multiplied to reflect that.
The printable PDF for the Halloween Candy Exercise Exchange for adults is at the end of this article. It has the black version as seen below and a white background version – I wanted to be sensitive to anyone who was hesitant to print all that black ink.
Halloween Candy Exercise Exchange for Adults
The PDF should print easily to your default print size without having to change anything. It prints to an 8-1/2 x 11 size sheet which is standard paper size.
- Use cardstock so it holds up!
- Consider getting a laser printer for your printables, they have come way down in price. I use a Dell color laser printer and it’s fantastic.
