This time of year is filled with so many magical things. Good food, spending time with friends and family, giving gifts, helping others, and so much more. But let’s face it, as much as we try to instill a spirit of giving in our kids, they also still have a wish list of things they would like to receive during the holidays. One of those hot holiday wish-list toys is the new Furby Connect from Hasbro.
My daughter literally squealed when she saw the Furby Connect at the store so imagine her excitement when she actually got to open one before Christmas.
Take a look at our ‘unboxing’ video on my Facebook page:
Initially, my daughter played with the Furby Connect without the app because my tablet needed to be charged. She had a great time interacting with it and was surprised and excited to find that the fun didn’t end there.
When you sync the Furby Connect to the app, you unlock a whole world of fun activities. You can feed your Furby Connect, hatch Furblings which are virtual mini Furby Connect characters, watch videos and more. Furby Connect engages with the app in hysterical ways. It eats the food you send to it virtually via cannon, it will sing and dance to the videos and tell you when the Furblings need something. The fun never seems to end and the more she plays with it, the funnier it seems to get. But when the fun becomes too much, you can put the Furby Connect to sleep using the included sleep mask that slides on over its eyes.
The Furby Connect is very animated with moving ears, closing eyelids, and changing eye graphics and expressions.
We were live on Facebook a few days ago showing all of the great features of the Furby Connect. You can watch a replay of that video below:
One thing that someone commented on during our LIVE was the bodily functions that the Furby Connect imitates that kids find funny. They expressed concern about it teaching bad manners. Personally, I find that it gives my daughter an opportunity to show that she actually has good manners because she corrects him all the time.
Then we both giggle.
Because this adorable toy really does seem to entertain the whole family.
