Morning around here doesn’t officially start until I have had at least one cup of coffee. One very large cup of coffee. If I’m not drinking coffee, I’m thinking about drinking coffee. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, my drink of choice is coffee. In the morning I like plain coffee with almond milk. Nothing fancy, just strong, traditional coffee. But as the day wears on, I like to have something a little fancier in the afternoon. Something sweet. Something festive that takes my coffee experience to the next level.
In the past, I would have to leave my house to find such an elusive drink.
But not anymore.
Because now I am my own barista thanks to the Ninja Coffee Bar® System.
The Ninja Coffee Bar® System gives you a
coffee house better than a coffee house experience, right at home. It includes an integrated hot and cold frother, six brew sizes, and five different brew types, for your ideal coffee house coffee. Without having to leave the house.
The Ninja Coffee Bar® System is a pod-free system and has four single serving sizes including an XL Multi-Serve Travel size and two carafe sizes (full – 10 oz, or half). It allows you to brew directly into a travel mug, any regular mug or the included carafe. The side of the unit has a handy measuring Smart Scoop for measuring your coffee grounds.
This side also includes the built-in hot or cold frother. It’s easy to twist off for quick cleaning!
You can use the included permanent filter or disposable filters (cone shaped) to brew your coffee.
In addition to the six brew sizes, the Ninja Coffee Bar® System offers two different brew categories with a total of five different brew types. The Custom brews include “Classic” which is a smooth and balanced cup of your favorite coffee, “Rich” which is your balanced cup made more intense and “Over Ice” which provides a delicious cup of iced coffee that is not watered down. The Signature brews include “Cafe Forte” which is a Ninja exclusive 8 oz brew that amplifies the natural flavors of your coffee for maximum flavor extraction and “Specialty” which is a very concentrated 4 oz brew that is ideal for making those delicious coffee house drinks.
There is so much variety in this machine; it fits very well in my home. My husband likes his coffee full-bodied and as he calls it “coffee flavored coffee.” He enjoys strong coffee with nothing fancy. I, on the other hand, love to be able to change it up for my afternoon brew, making creative seasonal drinks better (and more affordable) than any coffee house. It’s easy to use, and they even included some recipes to get you started making your own coffee creations.
Since it’s the holiday season, I figured I’d create something ultra Christmasy and decided on an eggnog latte. It’s very easy and only requires eggnog and coffee, but I highly recommend topping it with whipped cream and cinnamon. Everything is better with whipped cream. Except maybe bacon.
You start by heating 8 oz of eggnog. I don’t have a microwave, so I use a small stainless steel pot. I warm it on low for about 2-3 minutes. As the eggnog is warming, set a mug (if you are using glass make sure it is labeled for hot beverages) on the cup platform and add two Ninja Big scoops (4 tbsp) of your favorite coffee grounds to the brew basket (using the permanent or a disposable filter). Press the 4 oz Specialty button and wait for it to brew.
Once the eggnog is warm, pour it into a mug and place under the frother. Submerge the whisk below the surface of the eggnog and froth for 30-45 seconds. Pour the eggnog into the coffee and top with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Perfect! You can add some Irish cream to it and make it an adult beverage as well. I would cut back the eggnog to 3/4 cup and add 1/4 cup Irish cream.
I can’t wait to explore other better-than-a-coffee-house coffeehouse drinks with the Ninja Coffee Bar® System!
