That is, until Fathead came into my life.
Fathead graphics and decals are vibrant images on high quality material. They range in size from 7″ all the way up to 7′ and are quick and easy to install. They are also easy to remove, re-position and reuse as your needs, tastes and decor change.
I had always thought that Fathead only had giant decals of sports players but it turns out that they have so many more graphic options for every room in the house! You can even have a custom Fathead made from your own design or image. They have architectural elements, professional and college sports graphics, popular kids characters including Disney, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street and more, entertainment graphics from movies, TV and video games and fine art graphics.
I was so excited to select some Fatheads for my home, I knew the perfect spot in my entryway for one of the art & decor Fathead products, and of course I couldn’t resist getting some for my kids bedrooms.
My entry way is small but quaint and I was really getting tired of looking at this blank wall.
Every time I go up and down the stairs (multiple times a day) I look at that empty space and think about doing something with it. It’s just so empty…
Fathead had the perfect wall decal for that spot. It’s a customizable and personalized rub-on transfer from the Fathead Martha Stewart collection.
The instructions for installation seemed fairly straightforward so my son and I got a level, some painters tape and a stool and placed the decal in the perfect location.
We then peeled the paper backing off, pressed the decal onto the wall and used the included squeegee to make sure all of the letters were adhered to the wall before removing the outer layer to reveal the letters.
This part was a bit painstaking, making sure the letters stayed put but they went on the wall beautifully. I LOVE the way it looks, it really was the perfect thing for that empty wall.
Then I moved on to my daughter’s room. For her I picked out a life-sized mare and foal peel & stick decal. The horse is around 6′ tall, it’s huge! It also came with some other smaller horse related decals. I had no idea what to expect and was shocked when I saw how big it actually was.
It was bigger than my dining room table!
Applying the big decal was a bit challenging because of the height of it, but my son and I managed pretty well and it went on without any bubbles or wrinkles. My daughter’s bedroom (she’s 8) is in the process of a makeover with new furniture and decor so this was a great way to add some character and give us something to choose furniture around.
I knew the perfect place for the large horse was near her desk so as she does her homework she can feel like the horses are right there with her.
They really do look lifelike.
My son’s decals were much smaller, they were peel & stick Fathead Teammate decals. Being a sports fan, I knew he would love some decor featuring his favorite teams. We chose the wall opposite his door so he sees them every time he walks in. Here’s what it looked like before:
The smaller decals are super easy to install and re-position as needed. We used a level to align the tops of them.
He loves them and I think they look so much better than the poster he had there.
We love our new Fathead decals! We are all showing them off to family and friends, and have some additional places where we think we will decorate more rooms with Fathead wall decals.
What Fathead would you choose?
