On Saturday night during the Bloggers on Bourbon event, we all got dressed up in our fancy best (well, I had to go out and buy fancy best because I didn’t have anything that fit) and had a wonderful dinner at Dickie Brennan’s. The dinner was sponsored by OpenSky and Collective Bias, two great companies that are so supportive of mom bloggers and they really are where the future of social media is at.
Ted Rubin from OpenSky gave a presentation about what their company is all about. In fact, Ted was in attendance the entire weekend and he was so fun to be around. John Andrews from Collective Bias also said a few words about what they are all about and he sat at my table at dinner and was a lot of fun to talk to. I was so impressed by both of them, that I already applied to OpenSky to have my own store and my husband and I are also going to apply to become a supplier for our Old Sailor Ladyfinger Microwave Popcorn. If you were at Bloggers on Bourbon, you should have received a sample of the popcorn in your swag bag. I can’t wait to hear what you thought of it, and to start seeing it sold on OpenSky shops across the web! I’m also trying to finagle and invite to the Collective Bias community. I. WANT. IN.
This really was a fun evening. Even though my #guywhoruns crew didn’t save me a seat at their table, I ended up sitting with Jessica, Kathleen, Rhea, Elizabeth and John Andrews. I had a great time chatting with everyone and John had us make a video for YouTube’s Life in a Day event.
The food at Dickie Brennan’s was really great. The service was fantastic and it was an experience like no other. I even bought makeup for this dinner (I haven’t worn makeup in 10 years – since my wedding) and it was well worth it. Even the blister I got on my little toe from walking in heels. Totally worth it.
