That is roughly how much we have been saving each month on our water bill since we started using our new Frigidaire Affinity Washer.
We have pretty expensive water here in our little town in Indiana. Our water bills average $110/mo BEFORE we do any watering of the lawn or plants (which we don’t do because of the high costs). Where we used to live, we wouldn’t even pay that much over 3 months.
Lately our bill has been around $86/mo and I have been doing additional laundry with Jake playing football and going to school.
Front loading washing machines in general use 40-75 percent less water than traditional top loading machines. The Frigidaire Affinity uses just over 12 gallons of water per wash compared to the 40 gallons top loaders use.
I have noticed too that our gas/electric bill (ours is combined) has gone down but that is harder to gauge exactly how much because we also stopped running the air conditioning recently too. Ideally though, a front loading washing machine should reduce your energy bills because it uses less water therefore heats less water, but also because the wash machine spins at higher speeds removing more water from your clothes and requiring less dry time so you save on the drying end too.
